General Information
Yes. NextMark Credit Union is federally insured by the NCUA for $250,000 per share owner, per insured credit union, for each account ownership category. To figure out exactly how much of your money is insured, we invite you to use the estimator, an online tool that helps credit union members determine if their deposits are fully insured by the NCUA. We encourage you to check it out at MyCreditUnion.gov.
How does NCUA protect funds?
The NCUA protects funds by providing deposit insurance to credit unions. The deposit insurance is backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government, which means that the funds are guaranteed by the government up to the insured limit. NCUA’s deposit insurance program and supervisory efforts are designed to help protect the funds of credit union members and promote the safety and soundness of the credit union system.
What can members do to keep their accounts safe?
Credit union members should keep their deposits within the insurance limits to ensure their funds are fully insured. If a member has more than the insured amount in a single account, they may consider opening additional accounts to spread the funds to ensure full insurance coverage.
